The “Marathon of Ravenna City of Art” 2018, with which the 20th edition of the event will be celebrated, will be an event open to all, without any distinction.
With this objective the initiative “Running without Frontiers – All Together” will be launched, created to open the doors of the Marathon also to all people with disabilities who do not have the athletic training and the possibility to complete the fractions already planned.

The 19th Marathon of Ravenna has come to the XIX edition, a competition that over the years has become a true event that combines sport, culture, health, solidarity and tourism promotion. To date, the members are almost 7,000: over 3,200 members of the two competitions, 1,500 at the Marathon of Ravenna City of Art and 1,700 at the Half Marathon of 42 nationalities, 10 percent more than the previous edition. There are ten countries for the first time: Andorra, Canada, Catalonia, Cyprus, Croatia, Malta, Moldova, Nigeria, Sri Lanka and Turkey.
The appointment with the Global Ports Marathon of Ravenna City of Art, from the new title sponsor, is from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 November. The real race, which includes three distances: Maratona 42 km, Half Marathon and 10.5 km Almaverde Bio, will be held on Sunday November 12 at 9.30 with departure and arrival on Rome Street, framed by the Gardens of the Ravenna Art Museum. It runs between eight UNESCO monuments, among the golden mosaics, among the Byzantine Churches, to the sea to experience a unique experience. Each of the participants will be offered a mosaic medal created by Ravenna’s Annafietta, who this year chose the concentric form typical of Byzantine mosaics.

First edition of ‘Dogs & Run – 6-legged marathon’, scheduled for Saturday 11 November (starting at 11am). The event organized by Ravenna Runners Club in collaboration with Polisportiva Colti in Castagna is dedicated to those who want to run with their dog. The ‘6-legged’ race, playful free-riding motorcycle, is aimed at dogs and companions who can run along a 2 km route, mainly in the gardens of the Logan Lombardy in Ravenna, along with their 4-legged friend. Canicross is a unique experience in its kind of fun, guided by experienced experts to illustrate how to best practice this discipline.
